Directions

Take I-10 East to the Coolidge/Florence exit. Follow posted directions to the Coolidge/Florence area (traveling East). Turn right on Highway 87, pass Coolidge turn-off, and continue East until you arrive in the Florence area. At the ‘Y’, turn left; then turn right on Butte Avenue (first light); cross Pinal Parkway (Highway 79) – remaining on Butte Avenue. The main entrance (access to North Unit, CB-K, Central Unit, and Complex parking) is approximately 1/4 mile (right turn). For East Unit parking, continue on Butte Avenue, past the main entrance for approximately 1/2 mile. For South Unit parking, turn right at Pinal Parkway, continue approximately 1/4 mile and make a left turn into the institutional grounds parking area.

Each prison has a Commissary which was started to provide inmates a bank-like account for inmate funds and for purchasing things not provided by the facility.

How to Send an Inmate Money

Anyone can send money to these Commissary accounts by sending it by Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.

Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can to send inmates money through postal mail and must send funds to the address below and follow the rules listed below:

The money must be in a money order made out to the inmate’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is best if you use a postal money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be subject to a 15-day holding period, during which the prisoner will not get the funds. The Bureau of Prisons will return to the sender money orders that do not have valid prisoner info if the envelope it was sent it has a valid return address. Cash and personal checks won’t be deposited so don’t send any cash or checks.

Victim Notification

The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. You will receive a Victim Identification Number (VIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will allow you to access VNS via the internet or by phone. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.
