How to Send an Inmate Money

Family, friends, or other sources may deposit money to these accounts using Western Union or by mail.

Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends are able to send prisoners money through the mail and have to send it to the following address and follow the rules provided below:

The money have to be in the form of a money order made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You are advised to use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders that are processed through the National Lockbox will be placed on a 15-day hold, and during this period the inmate will not have access to the depsoit. The Bureau of Prisons will return to the sender funds that do not have appropriate prisoner information provided the envelope has a return address. 2. Kelli says:

My husband is incarcerated in Cummins with problems getting protection from other inmates. He had been in there before and had the same problem. He was told to go to the barracks assigned to him even before a barracks was assigned. He has a speech problem because of having a stroke years before. Now they put 4 more years on him for asking for protection. He is appealing the write up he got for asking for help. The first appeal was denied!! I don’t believe you should have more years put on your sentence just for asking For protection from other inmates. I want to know what I can do if anything to get him transferred from Cummins to another facility like pine bluff where he was before!?

  3. unknown says:
