How to Send an Inmate Money

Friends, family, or other people may send funds to these accounts using Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.

Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can choose to send inmates money by way of the mail and will have to send money to this address and follow the rules shows below:

The money must be in a money order that is made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You are advised to use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be kept for a 15-day hold, and during this hold period the prisoner will not have access to the depsoit. The Bureau of Prisons will return money orders that don’t have valid inmate information if the envelope has a valid return address. Personal checks and cash will not be deposited to the prisoner’s account so don’t send checks or cash.

Victim Notification

The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. You will receive a Victim Identification Number (VIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will allow you to access VNS via the internet or by phone. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.

    MY Husband is in prison there suppose to be 90 days in reception hes been stuck there 1yr we were married before he went and we celebrated are first anniversary while hes still in reception somethings wrong with this picture its killing us no phone calls no visiting i live out of state the mails really messed up ,he basically starving he tell of inhumane treatment of him and everyone else no cleaning supplies, toilets overflowing no supplies which are suppose to be provided,his advisor never calls me back he use to ,but hes the third one hes had i dont know ,but somethings got to change im researching to find help lots of prayer,ya know my husbands a good man made some bad choices let me tell you we all have ,he has not murdered ,touched innocent children or people i tell you for he did he has paid his due I feel God agrees ,he is stuck in reception treated as an animal caged for 23hrs a day 2 sons out here waiting ,a new wife and his best friend hos dad and mother who is fragile ill most days im out here with his family helping as they help me we need him how do you really think it feels well i spoke my mind,Thank You God Bless all
