Inmate Money

Each state prison has a Commissary which was started to provide inmates a bank type account for prisoner money and for buying items not issued regularly by the facility.

How to Send an Inmate Money

Family, friends, or other sources can send funds to inmate’s accounts with Western Union or by mail.

Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can to send inmates money through the postal service and will have to send those funds to the address below and follow the steps shows below:

The funds must be a money order made out to the inmate’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You should use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be kept for a 15-day holding period, and during this hold period the inmate will not have access to the funds. The Bureau of Prisons will return to the sender funds that don’t have valid prisoner info but only if the envelope has a return address. Cash and personal checks won’t be deposited to the inmate’s account so do not send cash or checks.

Inmate Programs

ACC provides offender training through Correctional Industries programs such as: Service Station, Greenhouse, Fish Processing, K-9 Program, Canteen and Transportation.The Drug and Alcohol, and Phase II Sex Offender Treatment Community (TC) Programs are located at ACC which results in special housing and program arrangements. In addition to intensive therapy for offenders in these programs, ACC has mental health, drug and alcohol counseling, anger management, and life skills treatment available for general population offenders.

The Victim Rights Act grants victims the following rights:

  • Foster parents or other caregivers, under certain circumstances.

There are a number of services and programs designed to help victims and their families. You can find out about these services by contacting the courthouse, or local law enforcement agency.

Victim Notification

The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. You will receive a Victim Identification Number (VIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will allow you to access VNS via the internet or by phone. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.
