How to Send an Inmate Money

Friends, family, or other people may deposit funds to inmate’s Commissary accounts with Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.

Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can to send inmates money by way of the postal service and must send those funds to this address and do so in accordance with the steps listed below:

The deposit must be a money order made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You are advised to use a postal money order, since all non-postal money orders that are processed through the National Lockbox will be subject to a 15-day hold period, and in this time the inmate will not have access to the deposit. The Bureau of Prisons will send back any funds that don’t have appropriate inmate information provided the envelope has a return address. Personal checks and cash won’t be deposited so do not send any cash or checks.

FMCC provides offender training through Correctional Industies programs such as: Dairy, Wild Horse Program, Heavy Equipment and SWIFT (fire fighting) program.

FMCC provides drug and alcohol counseling, life skills and anger management classes as well as mental health treatment.

Physical recreation includes a gymnasium with workout area and a basketball court. An outdoor recreation area, including softball field and outdoor fitness equipment, is available as well as participation in facility sports leagues such as softball, flag football, etc.

Victim Notification

The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. You will receive a Victim Identification Number (VIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will allow you to access VNS via the internet or by phone. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.
