Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends are able to send prisoners money by way of the postal service and must send the money to this address and do so in accordance with the policies shows below:

The money has to be in the form of a money order that is made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is best if you use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be placed on a 15-day holding period, during which the prisoner will not have access to the funds. The Bureau of Prisons will return money orders that do not have correct prisoner info provided the envelope you sent it in has an adequate return address. Cash and checks won’t be deposited to the prisoner’s account so don’t send cash or checks.
