Take I-75 south to 475 south. (It will run back into I-75 south) Take Exit #99, Georgia/Florida Pkwy/Hwy 300 and turn right onto Hwy 300. Continue for approximately 33 miles and turn right onto Clark Ave. Go through two traffic lights and turn right onto the Bypass. Continue until it dead ends at U.S.-82 and then exit left. After exiting, turn right onto Pointe North. Then turn right at 1st traffic light onto Old Dawson Rd. After about two miles there will be a sharp curve to the left, follow the curve and the road becomes Byron Plantation Rd, continue until you dead-end again. Turn right onto Gillionville Rd/Hwy 234. Travel about 22 miles until you come to stop sign, turn right. Go to the next stop sign and turn right again. Take the 1st left onto Hwy 45, go about one mile and Calhoun State Prison will be on your right.

Every state prison has a Commissary that serves to provide inmates a bank type account for prisoner money and for buying things not issued regularly by the correctional facility.

Family, friends, or other sources may add money to inmate’s Commissary accounts by sending it by Western Union or by mail.

Via U.S. Postal Service: Inmates’ families and friends are able to send inmates money in postal mail and must send money to the following address and follow the rules listed below:

The funds have to be in the form of a money order that is made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You are advised to use a postal money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be held for a 15-day hold, and during this hold period the inmate will not get the money. The Bureau of Prisons will return money orders that don’t have valid prisoner information if the envelope you sent it in has a valid return address. Checks and cash won’t be deposited to the inmate’s account so don’t send checks or cash.

The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. You will receive a Victim Identification Number (VIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will allow you to access VNS via the internet or by phone. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.
