Take I-75 South through Macon to I-16 towards Savannah. Take Exit 51, Hwy 441/McRae. Turn right on Hwy 441 and travel approximately 15 miles. At the caution light, take a left onto Hwy 126 for approximately one mile, and then turn to the right towards Alamo. Take the first paved road to your right at the city limits sign in Alamo and travel two blocks and turn right again. Wheeler Correctional Facility is approximately Ľ mile on the left.

Each prison has a Commissary that was started to provide prisoners a bank type account for prisoner funds and for purchasing things not issued regularly by the Bureau of Prisons.

Friends, family, or other people may send money to prisoner’s accounts by sending it by Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.

Via U.S. Postal Service: Inmates’ families and friends can to send inmates money through postal mail and will have to send those funds to this address and do so in accordance with the directions given below:

The deposit has to be a money order made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You should use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders that are processed through the National Lockbox will be kept for a 15-day holding period, and during this period the inmate will not have access to the money. The Bureau of Prisons will return any funds that don’t have appropriate inmate information but only if the envelope has a return address. Personal checks and cash can’t be accepted for deposit so do not send checks or cash.

The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. You will receive a Victim Identification Number (VIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will allow you to access VNS via the internet or by phone. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.
