How to Send an Inmate Money
Friends, family, or other people may deposit funds into these accounts using the U.S. Postal Service and Western Union.
Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can choose to send inmates money by way of postal mail and must send the money to the following address and do so in accordance with the rules given below:
The funds must be in the form of a money order made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is best if you use a postal money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be kept for a 15-day holding period, and during this hold period the inmate will not get the funds. The Bureau of Prisons will return to the sender any funds that don’t have correct prisoner info provided the envelope has a return address. Cash and checks will not be deposited so don’t send any cash or checks.
