How to Send an Inmate Money
Friends, family, or other people may add funds to these accounts by sending it by Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.
Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can to send prisoners money in postal mail and must send the money to this address and follow the policies written below:
The money has to be a money order that is made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You should use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders that are processed through the National Lockbox will be placed on a 15-day holding period, and during this period the prisoner will not get the deposit. The Bureau of Prisons will return to the sender money orders that don’t have valid prisoner info if the envelope has a return address. Checks and cash will not be accepted for deposit so don’t send checks or cash.

Monday, Wednesday through Sunday
1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Visiting Room is closed on Tuesdays.
Visits are permitted based on the last digit of the inmate’s DOC number and the day’s date.
Inmates with ending numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 are permitted visits on the corresponding date ~
(e.g., January – December 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, etc.)
Inmates with ending numbers 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 are permitted visits on the corresponding date ~
(e.g., January – December 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, etc.)
Inmate Visitor Procedures
Each Maryland prison has their own procedures for prisoner visitation and these policies get changed regularly. The information listed below could be different when you are reading this, so make sure to also go to Jessup Correctional Institution’s site to find the most recent rules for visitation.
Visitation Sign-In and Check-In
The front entrance guard will ensure every visitor signs the prisoner visitors log when they enter the visitation area and also when they leave.

Victim Notification
The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. You will receive a Victim Identification Number (VIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will allow you to access VNS via the internet or by phone. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.
