Inmate Money
How to Send an Inmate Money
Anyone may send funds into these accounts with the U.S. Postal Service and Western Union.
Via U.S. Postal Service: Inmates’ families and friends are able to send inmates money in the postal service and must send money to the following address and do so in accordance with the steps shows below:
The deposit must be a money order made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is best if you use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be subject to a 15-day holding period, in which the prisoner will not get the money. The Bureau of Prisons will return funds that don’t have appropriate inmate information provided the envelope has a return address. Checks and cash cannot be deposited to the inmate’s account so do not send any checks or cash.
