Inmate Money
How to Send an Inmate Money
Friends, family, or other people may send money to these accounts by sending it by Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.
Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can choose to send prisoners funds by way of the postal service and will have to send the money to the following address and follow the directions listed below:
The money has to be a money order that is made out to the inmate’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You should use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be held for a 15-day hold period, and in this time the inmate will not have access to the money. The Bureau of Prisons will send back funds that do not have valid inmate info but only if the envelope has a valid return address. Cash and personal checks can’t be deposited to the inmate’s account so don’t send checks or cash.
