Inmate Money
How to Send an Inmate Money
Anyone can deposit money to prisoner’s Commissary accounts with Western Union or by mail.
Via U.S. Postal Service: Inmates’ families and friends are able to send inmates funds through postal mail and have to send those funds to the following address and follow the directions written below:
The funds must be in the form of a money order made out to the inmate’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is best if you use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders that are processed through the National Lockbox will be placed on a 15-day holding period, and during this period the prisoner will not have access to the deposit. The Bureau of Prisons will send back money orders that don’t have appropriate inmate info but only if the envelope you sent it in has a return address. Checks and cash will not be deposited so do not send any cash or checks.
