How to Send an Inmate Money
Friends, family, or other people may add funds to these accounts with Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.
Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can choose to send inmates money by way of the mail and must send it to the following address and follow the steps provided below:
The funds must be in the form of a money order that is made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is best if you use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be kept for a 15-day hold, during which the prisoner will not get the deposit. The Bureau of Prisons will return any funds that do not have appropriate inmate info but only if the envelope you sent it in has an adequate return address. Checks and cash will not be accepted for deposit so don’t send checks or cash.
