Inmate Money
How to Send an Inmate Money
Friends, family, or other people may send funds to inmate’s accounts using Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.
Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can choose to send prisoners money by way of postal mail and will have to send the money to the following address and do so in accordance with the steps provided below:
The deposit must be a money order that is made out to the inmate’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is best if you use a postal money order, since all non-postal money orders that are processed through the National Lockbox will be held for a 15-day hold period, and in this time the prisoner will not get the money. The Bureau of Prisons will return to the sender money orders that do not have valid prisoner information but only if the envelope you sent it in has a return address. Cash and checks cannot be accepted for deposit so do not send any cash or checks.
