Inmate Money
How to Send an Inmate Money
Anyone can deposit funds into these accounts by sending it by the U.S. Postal Service and Western Union.
Via U.S. Postal Service: Inmates’ families and friends are able to send inmates money through the postal service and will have to send funds to this address and follow the steps written below:
The money must be a money order made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is best if you use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders that are processed through the National Lockbox will be kept for a 15-day holding period, and during this hold period the inmate will not have access to the money. The Bureau of Prisons will send back money orders that don’t have valid inmate info if the envelope it was sent it has a return address. Personal checks and cash will not be deposited to the inmate’s account so don’t send any cash or checks.
