Directions
From East/Raleigh, take I-40 west. Take the Hillsborough exit. Proceed through Hillsborough onto NC 86N. Take NC 86N to Yanceyville. In Yanceyville, turn right onto NC 86N toward Danville, Virginia. At second stoplight, the intersection of NC 86 and 158, turn right onto County Home Road. Go approximately Ľ of a mile and turn left onto Murray Road. Follow Murray Road for approximately 1 mile. Dan River Prison is at the end of Murray Road.
From West/Greensboro, take I-40/85 east, then get on NC 29N toward Danville, Virginia. In Reidsville, take NC 158 exit to Yanceyville. Proceed through the stoplight, the intersection of NC 158 and 86 onto County Home Road. Go approximately Ľ of a mile, turn left onto Murray Road. Follow Murray Road for 1 mile. Dan River Prison is at the end of Murray Road.

How to Send an Inmate Money
Friends, family, or other people may add funds to prisoner’s accounts using Western Union or by mail.
Via U.S. Postal Service: Inmates’ families and friends can to send inmates money through the mail and will have to send funds to the following address and do so in accordance with the policies given below:
The money has to be a money order made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is advisable to use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be subject to a 15-day holding period, and during this period the prisoner will not get the money. The Bureau of Prisons will send back money orders that don’t have appropriate prisoner information provided the envelope you sent it in has a valid return address. Checks and cash can’t be accepted so don’t send cash or checks.

Inmate Visitation Schedule
Visitation takes place in alphabetical order three times a day on Saturdays and Sundays respectively. Inmates in segregation are allowed visitors on an appointment basis Mondays through Fridays. On October 1, 2004, a new Statewide visitation policy takes effect. It requires all visitors to complete an application prior to visitation.

Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.
