How to Send an Inmate Money

Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can choose to send prisoners funds by way of the postal service and will have to send it to the address below and do so in accordance with the steps provided below:

The funds must be a money order that is made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is advisable to use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be kept for a 15-day hold, during which the prisoner will not have access to the money. The Bureau of Prisons will return to the sender funds that don’t have correct prisoner info but only if the envelope has a valid return address.
