  1. george walker says:

I was incarcerated at Annandale (Mt. View) in 1976,77,78,79 and 80. I was 24 when I paroled out. I was sentenced 7-10 years and was the second prison number that the Institution accepted. Another inmate in Cottage 1 had a 10-12. Later, they brought in some guys from Rahway. They had a drug program in those days. It was called “Lost and Found”. I did a year in that program. It wasn’t any joke. The Officers were all good guys and I got along with them fine. Some of them had their own problems too, but were always nice to me. I lived in Warren County in those years., near Phillipsburg, so to me they were always my “hommies”. We had a Sargent named Morris, I remember and Officer Rorhety and Hinkle, who were great guys. Annandale never left me, even after 38 years. I had a fear of going back to that place and it has kept me out of jail, since ! I hope it does the same for others.
