Inmate Money

Each state correctional institution has a Commissary which was created to provide a bank account for prisoner money and for buying items not issued regularly by the facility.

How to Send an Inmate Money

Family, friends, or other sources can send money to inmate’s accounts using Western Union or by mail.

Via U.S. Postal Service: Inmates’ families and friends can to send prisoners money through postal mail and have to send funds to the address below and do so in accordance with the policies shows below:

The money must be a money order made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You are advised to use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be kept for a 15-day holding period, in which the inmate will not get the deposit. The Bureau of Prisons will return to the sender funds that don’t have correct prisoner information if the envelope you sent it in has a return address. Personal checks and cash won’t be deposited to the prisoner’s account so do not send checks or cash.

Inmate Visitation Schedule

Visitation is on Sundays. Visitors with last names starting with letters A – L visit from noon – 2 p.m.. Visitors with last names starting with letters M – Z visit from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. All visitors must be on approved visitation list
Special Visits for out-of-state visitors may be requested through the Facility Officer In Charge between the hours of 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The Victim Rights Act grants victims the following rights:

Victim Notification

The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. You will receive a Victim Identification Number (VIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will allow you to access VNS via the internet or by phone. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.
