From I-10 take Exit 199 (US-27 South) through downtown Tallahassee, the town of Woodville (US-363, Woodville Hwy) and across the Leon/Wakulla County line. Turn left onto Commerce Boulevard (first paved road on left after the County line). Go approximately 4˝ miles on Commerce Boulevard and turn right on Melaleuca Drive. Travel approximately ˝ mile and turn right into the Institutional Parking lot.

Inmate Money

Every state prison has a Commissary which was created to provide inmates a bank-like account for inmate monies and for purchasing things not issued regularly by the prison.

How to Send an Inmate Money

Family, friends, or other sources can deposit funds to prisoner’s accounts with Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.

Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can choose to send prisoners money in postal mail and must send it to the address below and do so in accordance with the directions shows below:

The money must be a money order made out to the prisoner’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. You are advised to use a post office money order, since all non-postal money orders that are processed through the National Lockbox will be placed on a 15-day hold period, and in this time the inmate will not get the deposit. The Bureau of Prisons will send back funds that do not have appropriate inmate info provided the envelope it was sent it has an adequate return address. Personal checks and cash won’t be accepted for deposit so do not send checks or cash.

  • Foster parents or other caregivers, under certain circumstances.

There are a number of services and programs designed to help victims and their families. You can find out about these services by contacting the courthouse, or local law enforcement agency.

Victim Notification

The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. You will receive a Victim Identification Number (VIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will allow you to access VNS via the internet or by phone. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.
